York

I enjoyed York, England, United Kingdom more than I thought I would. Obviously, I thought I might enjoy a visit. Otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered staying there a couple of nights. But I did.

My primary reason for stopping in York was to break up a train trip from London, England to Edinburgh, Scotland. What I found was a smallish city with a lovely river, nice streets, welcoming architecture, a Viking history, and some old buildings, including some ruins, to visit.

Not only am I glad I booked a stay in York, I wish I’d stayed a couple of days more. Maybe I will at some point. Maybe I already have by the time you miraculously stumbled on this category description. Really. I’m amazed anybody reads these things. You may be the first.
