Old churches can be beautiful. That’s true even if you, like me, are non-theistic. Europe is overrun with beautiful old churches. In the old sections of old European cities, you usually can’t walk more than a few blocks without serendipitously passing a majestic church.

If you go to Europe and don’t visit an old church, then what the heck is wrong with you. Really. Take in the grandeur. If you’re going to spend all of that time and money to visit Europe (assuming you don’t already live there) without marveling over a church or two then you didn’t get full value from your time and money.
