Tainan

Before I considered visiting Taiwan, I hadn’t heard of Tainan, a city in Taiwan. I don’t know if that’s something I should be extremely embarrassed about or if most North Americans likewise don’t know about Tainan (or, rather, didn’t until they found these pages) and, therefore, to be expected. Then again, it’s possible that most North Americans are incredibly ignorant and I should feel embarrassed on all of our parts.

Regardless, I am greatly embarrassed about my horrific ignorance regarding a great many things, so I’ll add Tainan to the list.

In the exceptionally unlikely event that you read the description on the index page for Taipei in this journal, you’ll know that the first thing that captured my interest about that city was that there’s a nonstop flight between there and my hometown of Toronto.

Having decided to spend some time in Taipei, I decided that I should also take advantage of the opportunity to visit somewhere else in Taiwan. All things considered (sights and transportation), Tainan looked like the best choice.

All posts I publish about my visit to Tainan are linked below upon publication.

This Tainan city index page is a subcategory of the Taiwan country index page, which is a subcategory of the Asia index page.
