Lecce

As I understand it, Italians pronounce “Lecce,” as in Lecce, Italy, something along the lines of “lech-eh.”

However, I must provide some warnings with that attempt at describing the pronunciation of “Lecce:”

Don’t put as much emphasis on “eh” as you would if it were a separate word.

My fellow Canadians should fight the temptation to add the rising inflection to “eh” that we normally place on it to turn a statement into a question. This is particularly important when speaking to another anglophone. Making eye contact with someone and saying, “lech, eh?” to them might be misunderstood.

I don’t speak Italian and i probably horribly mispronounce the few words I do know. So I might be completely wrong about how to pronounce the name of this city.

This category is a subcategory of Italy and a sub-subcategory of Europe. Those higher-level categories, particularly Europe, already have a lot of posts in them. So, if you’re looking for a way to spend a lot of time, visit the Europe category pages and read all of the posts there.

I didn’t say it will be a good way to spend a lot of time. Just a way. Whether or not you will find it a good way depends on whether you enjoy reading the posts in this travel journal. In either case, hey, what else have you got to do with your time?
