Salisbury looked nice in the guidebooks, but the real reason I chose to visit it is that Stonehenge is nearby, and there is a shuttle bus to Stonehenge from Salisbury. So, by staying in Salisbury, I could immediately cross Stonehenge off my bucket list should I ever decide to create a bucket list.
