Nafplio

Nafplio is an absolutely beautiful little city on the west coast of the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. It has a pretty waterfront lined with restaurants in one section, an old fortress at the top of a high hill, a good archaeological museum*, and a so-so national art gallery.

(What’s a Greek city or town without an archaeological museum? That was a trick question. It’s a Greek city or town without an archaeological museum. But, based on my experience they seem to be few and far between. And Nafplio isn’t one of them.
