Delphi Travel Journal

I went to Delphi, Greece to consult the Oracle there. But I think it was her day off. At least, I couldn’t find her anywhere. I think she might work for a database company now.

All kidding aside, the ruins at Delphi are quite spectacular. When I say ruins, I’m talking about architectural antiquities, not about me. Then again, some people describe me as an antiquity these days. But those are only truthful people.

I broke a rule with this category. Typically, I include categories only for cities or towns I stay in overnight. I didn’t overnight in Delphi. Instead, I stayed in a lovely nearby seaside town called Galaxidi. That has its own category, called naturally, “Galaxidi.” However, Delphi is so well known and amazing—and I spent the better part of the day there—that I felt it deserved its own category.

To be honest, I broke that rule a few times with my Greece travel journal posts because I had a car for much of the time I was there. So I stopped at some major sights along the way. I usually take trains in Europe, which means I typically don’t stop between the cities or towns where I overnight. But trains weren’t convenient for the places I wanted to visit in Greece.

Both this and “Galaxidi” are subcategories of my “Greece” category, which, in turn, is a subcategory of “Europe.”
