Mycenae

I visited Mycenae as a stop on a drive from Monemvasia to Nafplio on my driving tour of the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. It was a worthwhile stop.

Mycenae has a good archaeological museum and an great archaeological site with some amazing ruins.

A few places on my Peloponnese tour caused me to change my rules about setting up categories in this travel journal. Typically, I don’t create a category for a city or town unless I stay overnight there. However, I typically take trains, not rental cars. Trains just wouldn’t cut it on the Peloponnese peninsula so I rented a car.

If I visit someplace other than where I spend a night, it’s usually on a day trip where I book a tour that starts and ends in the same city. I feel comfortable including those in the city I stayed in, even though I ventured out from it.

But with a car, I might, as is the case with Mycenae, visit along the way from one overnight stop to another. So, which category do I include that stop in? The answer I came up with is, neither. I created a new category for it. However, that category includes only one entry unless I go back some day.
