If I visit an archaeological site, I try to remember to tag the associated post with the “archaeological site.”

Some people suggest that my age makes me a living archaeological archaeological artifact. Don’t listen to them. Although, they have a point. But, because I’m still mobile, you can’t predict which site to look for me at. So they’d be wrong to describe me as a site. Artifact, yes. Site, no. And, why the heck would you want to look for me anyway? Really. I’m nobody.

Then again, I don’t know how long this post will remain visible on the Internet. I might be dead when you read it. If so, those same people will probably argue I’m a then dead archaeological site.

Note that I generally use this tag only for in situ ruins. I don’t usually use it for ruins and other archaeological artifacts relocated into museums. That is true for both dedicated archaeological museums and more general museums. I lump those into the “Museum” tag.
