Tag: basilica

I usually use the “basilica” tag only for places with “basilica” in their names. Although, I might also use the if I saw a reputable source refer to the place as a basilica.

I’m not an expert on these things. Or on much of anything else, for that matter. But that’s another story. I’m thrilled you’re here. However, if you came to these pages looking for expertise on anything, you should probably move along. That is especially true for Christian religious institutions. And, come to think of it, most other religious institutions too.

Christian religious buildings (current and historic) might also carry the “church,” “cathedral,” or “monastery” tags in addition to or instead of the “basilica” tag.

Looking at all of those tags will lead you to a lot of posts here. Europe in particular is full of Christian religious buildings worth a visit even if you, like me, are a heathen.
