Tag: Neighbourhood

I love wandering around any nice, human-scale neighbourhood where pedestrians dominate, not cars. When I visit one on my travels, I might write a word or two about it in this travel journal and flag the relevant post with a “neighbourhood” tag. Or I might not. I’m not very reliable that way.

I generally prefer old neighbourhoods to new ones, but I don’t see any reason why town planners and developers couldn’t build a charming, walkable, human-scale new neighbourhood. I just haven’t seen a lot of new ones like that. And, by the way, if they try, they’ve got to make it a real, liveable place, not something that feels like it belongs in a theme park.

If that sounded like a criticism, good. It was.

Damn. I’m getting more and more curmudgeonly by the minute. Never mind. Enjoy the neighbourhoods.
