Taiwan

I’ve never been to mainland China, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to after publishing this. China likes to maintain the pretense that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China. Taiwan, as I understand it, doesn’t formally deny that, but it goes along its merry way acting as an independent, democratic country.

From what I’ve read, China gets upset when foreigners talk about Taiwan in a way that suggests it is something separate from China.

But here I’ve set up a country index page for Taiwan, directly under the “Asia” continent index page. This journal gets very little traffic and I’m an absolute nobody. So I don’t imagine that anyone in the Chinese government will see this or care about it if they do. But, in case they do, it might be inadvisable for me to visit that country now.

All posts I publish in this journal about my time in Taiwan will be linked to below.

There are also subsidiary city index pages for the cities within Taiwan that I visit. They will link to the pages exclusively for each of those cities, but all of the Taiwanese pages will be linked here.
